Frenetic Friday

And what a week it’s been folks.  Well we have a little bit of everything here even some Robotic Over Lords!

So this appears in my feed in the first part of the week

Now let’s state the obvious only one combination is going to keep you in your seat on a plane.  And frankly if the others are actually offered I’m not flying KLM I’ve been in turbulence.  But this is the best response I have seen.

HT: Doug Wilson

And then we have a new update from the culture of death featuring James Franco.

Pay special attention to Franco’s face as Princeton philosophy professor Elizabeth Harman gives her argument for aborting some babies.  No matter how she tries to justify it her argument just doesn’t hold water and Franco’s face reflects it.

And in the culture wars a former soldier who is transgender warns about the danger of gender dysphoria in the military.   One of the most interesting quote of that article is this:

When a service member becomes nondeployable because of gender transition related surgery, they’re going to not only not be on duty in some cases, but they will also be on light duty for most or all of that time.

They’ll have a medical profile against either performing their duties at all, or one that limits them. Commanders are forced to respect these limitations. But the health and fighting capabilities of a military unit are determined by how many of its members are deployable. It’s that serious.

As a former platoon sergeant I know this to be true.

Think about that.

And now our Robotic Over Lord’s.

First something truly terrifying.

Who thought giving the robot a sword was a good idea?

And now let us send the kids out of the room.

So there are these things called sexbots.  That apparently are being programmed to be used in rape fantasies.  And yes it is amazing just how depraved men are.

But riding in on the robotic white horse comes Professor John Banzhaf, a well-known activist professor of public interest law at George Washington University Law School.  He is concerned about the sexbots being used in such a manner and he wants Congress to rule and regulate the sexbots industry.  (Click on the link if you want to read the article)

Now is it me or does he want Congress to regulate a type of sexbot prostitution?

But on another note the thought of people having sex with robots reminds me of a quote from  That Hideous Strength by C.S. Lewis:

There dwell an accursed people, full of pride and lust. There when a young man takes a maiden in marriage, they do not lie together, but each lies with a cunningly fashioned image of the other, made to move and to be warm by devilish arts, for real flesh will not please them, they are so dainty (delicati) in their dreams of lust. Their real children they fabricate by vile arts in a secret place.”

And this ends another Frenetic Friday.

Frenetic Friday

From the eighty-sixth floor of the Empire State building the man of bronze’s golden eyes widened, turning to his five companions he said: “It’s Frenetic Friday!”

Sometimes I think that it is all a great conspiracy.  Take for instance this:

This is a picture from Babylon Bee where they satirically write that Elevation Church is putting in water slides to speed up baptisms.
Then Snopes that bastion of truth and internet debunking chimes in with a post about Babylon Bee and how it is a satire website and no Elevation Church isn’t really putting in a water slide.

Then there is this:.

Yep there it is they are getting baptized by going down a water slide.  Folks I can’t make this stuff up,

From there let’s go to Portland Oregon.  In specific let’s go to Pips Original Doughnuts and Chai where they have advertised for help with one proviso if you are vegan or vegetarian you need not apply.  Here is the ad they placed in the paper:

BASIC requirements: ( PLEASE DO NOT APPLY unless you meet or exceed 1-6)
1. You love serving people and have a friendly, outgoing personality but understand
when to be chatty and when to move the line along. -We don’t need another moody
hipster providing lame service in Portland.
2. One year experience working quickly and accurately in a fast-paced food service job.
3. Basic barista skills: Steaming milk & pouring a basic heart. IF you show promise and
meet or exceed all other requirements and we think you are a good fit, we will help
 refine your skills.
4. Stamina, strength & endurance. It can be very busy and you must be able to lift at
least 50 lbs on a regular basis.
5. Enjoy working in a fast-paced, multifaceted, & dynamic environment with a tight team.
6. No non-medical, non-religious dietary restrictions that would stop you from
tasting, accurately representing our food and maintaining quality control to
maintain the highest standards of food safety and excellence. We serve products
with meat ( including bacon) nuts, diary and our doughnuts contain wheat gluten.

Yep it is number six that has raised the ire of the vegans and vegetarians in Portland.  And boy howdy they are out for um wheat grass?  But the owners are standing firm or as they put it how can you tell if the quality of the product is good if you can’t eat the product?  I just wonder how long it is going to be before the tolerance police close them down.  But wait I forgot they’re not a Christian baker.  <source>

Now to our neighbors up in the north from the Daily Wire is a report that the University of Toronto is suspending temporarily the transgender bathroom policy they enacted because of  two separate instances where males (Oh no he is using binary based nouns!) were caught holding there cell phones over the female students shower stalls and taking pictures.  Something I could have told them was going to happen but they didn’t consult me at the time.  In the mean time the University has designated some bathrooms only for males, some only for females and some gender neutral.

Here are two of the student’s responses to the change:

One freshman told the paper that the issue “is not strictly about someone taking pictures; it is about a violation of the trust that our residence experience is based on.”

Another student told the paper that she was “disappointed” that the incident happened. “I have more faith in people than that,” she said. <source>

You know speaking of perverted things this popped up in my news alerts and I was so gob smacked by it that I had to share with you:

A US court has ruled it is legal to film up a woman’s skirt without consent due to a “gap” in the law surrounding invasion of privacy.

Brandon Lee Gary was prosecuted in 2013 on a single count of “unlawful eavesdropping and surveillance” after he was witnessed several times on CCTV footage taking video recordings with a mobile phone beneath the skirt of a customer while she was shopping.

Gary, who was employed by the supermarket when the filming occurred, admitted to the charge at a trial in Houston County Superior court where he was found guilty.

A spilt ruling at Georgia’s Court of Appeal on 15 July reversed the invasion of privacy conviction against a Gary, after he appealed on the basis that he did not violate state law as it is written,

In Court of Appeal documents published by US news site Patch, Judge Elizabeth Branch writes: “The question before this court, however is not whether the defendant’s conduct was offensive; it is not whether a person walking in a public place has a reasonable expectation of privacy as to certain areas of her body; and it is not whether the victim’s privacy was violated.

“Rather, the only issue presented by this appeal is whether the defendant’ s conduct constitutes a criminal invasion of privacy…”

“[I]t is regrettable that no law currently exists which criminalizes Gary’s reprehensible conduct,” she writes.

“Unfortunately, there is a gap in Georgia’s criminal statutory scheme, in that our law does not reach all of the disturbing conduct that has been made possible by ever-advancing technology.” <source>

Frankly I think the Georgia legislators had best be getting their work done and close that gap.

And last but not least a little something from Prager U:

Good Night!
