Frenetic Friday

Well it has been a while, and heat, wildfires, and an online class that I have been taking has consumed most of my time. However, it’s time once again for that favorite rant against culture Frenetic Friday! (void where prohibited by law)

Yes it is time once again for a feminist update. Point of fact here is Andrew Klavan with the leftese dictionary F is for feminism.

Oh that guy kills me. And now a word about masculinity from Allie Stucky:

And in a totally unrelated story CNN reports on the hiring of male dancers.

Well if that doesn’t increase viewership I don’t know what will.

And last but certainly not least is this article from the Art of Manliness:

Using principles similar to Angelo Siciliano, after he got sand kicked in his face at the beach, the prisoner, I mean the individual uses his own body weight and the available furniture to aid him to develop the form that is the envy of everyone in cell block B.

Well it’s been a while since I have come across a robot being used in such a unique manner, but to combat ophiods this town is turning to a robot that tests poop.

So have you read about that New Mexico Compound where eleven abused children were being trained to be school shooters?

According to an ABC News report:

The documents allege that 39-year-old Siraj Wahhaj was conducting weapons training at the property in Amalia, near the Colorado border. A foster parent of one of the 11 children allegedly stated to law enforcement that Wahhaj had “trained the child in the use of an assault rifle in preparation for future school shootings,” according to a criminal complain

The most important thing to remember about this report is the fact that not once is the man identified as a follower of Islam even though he is, and the question needs to be asked would this be true if the man in question has been a Christian?

And last a new comic by Adam Ford on hate speech:

Frenetic Friday a video

This is going to be short and sweet. First look at this:

Consider this, what is the ultimate source of issues in the church? Is it not ignorance of the scripture? If you are on social media you have seen exactly what has been shown in this video.

What is worse is when, and I speak from personal experience here, you confront the offender and get mobbed by the “social media christians” for being “unloving”, or and this is my favourite one ” too serious” about the posts. As if saying heretical statements about God or the Bible isn’t a serious matter.
The point is as the bible says:

my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge Hosea 4:6

Our lack of bible knowledge is killing the church.

Frenetic Friday

Well, well, well its Friday once again and I do believe we have a really big show for you tonight. So away we go!

Our first item of the night is this new study that has found that women are hard wired to find well meaning SEXIST men more attractive. (emphasis mine)  And why is this so?  Well according to the scientists who did the study women think that such men are more likely protect them, provide for them and commit to a relationship.  So what is considered sexist according to the study?  if they are chivalrous or think women need a man to protect them.  So think about this.  If you’ve been taught to say open the door for a lady, stand when a woman enters a room, remove your hat when speaking to a lady., in times of danger protect the women before yourself.    All this is a form of benevolent sexism.  Or manners as taught by your grandfather and grandmother, or in my case father and mother if you were fortunate to have this happen to you.  (if you were raised in the south  manners are part of the culture and this is the norm.)  But wait there is more it seems that even women who consider themselves strong feminists showed the same preferences in the study by British and US researchers.   That must really grind their gears. <source>

So have you ever seen this skit:

If you have you’ll recognize it as one of the classic Monty Python sketches.  Many is the time that I laughed myself silly over such skits.  Well according the head of comedy at the BBC, Shane Allen, Monty Python  wouldn’t get on the BBC because:

If you’re going to assemble a team now it’s not going to be six Oxbridge white blokes,” Allen said in June. “It’s going to be a diverse range of people who reflect the modern world.”

Terry Gilliam a member of the troupe and an American said in response to the claim that Monty Python was too white said:

I no longer want to be a white male, I don’t want to be blamed for everything wrong in the world: I tell the world now I’m a black lesbian. … My name is Loretta and I’m a BLT, a black lesbian in transition.”
“[Allen’s] statement made me so angry, all of us so angry,” he said. “Comedy is not assembled, it’s not like putting together a boy band where you put together one of this, one of that everyone is represented.”<source>

Now let’s go to the Pacific Northwest

Ah Seattle really you can’t find a more liberal city unless you’re on the east coast or in California.  Well seems that Seattle to protect the environment has placed a ban on plastic straws.  That means all the fast food restaurants and other restaurants have to go to either a paper of a paper/plastic composite straw.  Or you have a note from a doctor that  states you must use a plastic drinking straw.  And if you don’t have that note, well that is a $250 fine.  <source>

And last but not least this:

The blurb below says this:

No one is born white. But while there is no biological basis for a white race, whiteness is real. What’s more, whiteness as a way of being in the world has been parasitically joined to Christianity, and this is the ground of many of our problems today. It is time to redouble the efforts of the church and its institutions to muster well-informed, gospel-based initiatives to fight racialized injustice and overcome the heresy of whiteness.

Written by a world-class roster of scholars, Can “White” People Be Saved? develops language to describe the current realities of race and racism. It challenges evangelical Christianity in particular to think more critically and constructively about race, ethnicity, migration, and mission in relation to white supremacy.

Historical and contemporary perspectives from Africa and the African diaspora prompt fresh theological and missiological questions about place and identity. Native American and Latinx experiences of colonialism, migration, and hybridity inspire theologies and practices of shalom. And Asian and Asian American experiences of ethnicity and class generate transnational resources for responding to the challenge of systemic injustice. With their call for practical resistance to the Western whiteness project, the perspectives in this volume can revitalize a vision of racial justice and peace in the body of Christ.<source>

And let me remind you of this:

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.  Romans 1:16 (emphasis mine)

Frenetic Friday

So have you ever seen the WWUTT videos? These ninty second or so videos take a variety of subjects and apply the word of God to them. Mrs. Keachfan likes them because they take deep subjects and explain them clearly. Take a look at the latest one and then go check out their youtube channel.

Speaking of culture wars.

Prager U has come out with a great new video about intersectionality.

Intersectionality is the new buzz word amongst “woke” Christians and SJWs. I didn’t know what it was and I appreciate Prager U’s contribution to my education.

What would your evolutionist friends say if you said that nine out of ten species, including humans, came into existence only 100,000 to 200,000 years ago? Well according to this article from Phys.org a new genetic test proves just that. David Thaler one of the two authors of the study said: “This conclusion is very surprising, and I fought against it as hard as I could.” This means that ninty percent of the current species is basically the same age. But not only that but another unexpected finding from the study—species have very clear genetic boundaries, and there’s nothing much in between.

“If individuals are stars, then species are galaxies,” said Thaler. “They are compact clusters in the vastness of empty sequence space.”

The absence of “in-between” species is something that also perplexed Darwin, he said.

Speaking of Robots.

So do you want to know when you are going to die? According to this article Google’s A.I. can predict your death up to 95% accuracy. As reported by IFL Science, the new ability to use AI to predict death is outlined in a study recently published in npj Digital Medicine. The study involves new Artificial Intelligence (AI) that Google’s Medical Brain team have been working on. It has been trained to predict how likely it is that patients entering a hospital will make it out alive.

Now the obvious issue is what happens when the A. I. predictions are used to determine whether or not the patient should even be treated if there is only 5 percent chance of recovery?

Here is an example of the A. I. In action:

In one instance reported in the study, a patient with late-stage breast cancer was admitted to hospital. Her lungs were filled with fluid, she was seen by several doctors and then underwent a scan. According to the hospital’s assessment, she had a 9.3 percent chance of dying during her stay, based on her vital signs such as respiratory rate, blood pressure, and pulse. Google’s AI also ran its own assessment on the same patient, assessing 175,639 data points on her record, the researchers wrote in their study. These included data points that aren’t normally considered during patient evaluations. The AI was able to access previously out of reach data, such as PDFs of notes made by doctors and nurses that indicated evidence of malignant pleural effusions (fluid build-up around the lungs) and potential risk of pressure ulcers. Looking at this data, the AI put the patient’s risk of death during her stay at 19.9 percent. She died 10 days after admission.

Again what isn’t discussed in this is whether using this data the late-stage breast cancer patient would have been denied treatment.

I think that the ultimate question is should any decision rest in intelligence that isn’t human.

And that is it for Frenetic Friday.

Frenetic Friday

It’s been a long time between posts and frankly I have too much to manage in one Frenetic Friday. So I am going to hit some highlights.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

First Phil Johnson has returned to blogging. When I first started reading various blogs on the internet The Pyromaniacs was the first one on my list.

So by now no doubt you’re aware that the Boy Scouts of America has by allowing girls into the group has changed their name to just Scouts BSA. Of course the Girl Scouts are upset, seeing this as just another way to take members from them. But a new twist has come about it seems at the 24th World Scout Jamboree condoms must be provided.

Now Snopes that bastion of truth telling has said that:

This decision was made by the World Organization of the Scout Movement, not Boy Scouts of America; condoms have been available at these events since the early 1990s and an official policy mandating condoms was implemented in 2002; the 2019 World Scout Jamboree won’t be the first such event with women and girls in attendance.

What isn’t clear from Snopes is whether the Scouts BSA isn’t part of the organization of the World Scouts. Fortunately a quick look at the about section of the Scouts BSA answers that question in the affirmative.

Albert Mohler recently published this article at his website. Wrath of God poured out – The Humiliation of the Southern Baptist Convention.

If you are not up to speed with what has been happening with the SBC then Tom Ascol has kindly provided a way to get partially up to speed.

And now its time for

Robots, what can’t they do? Well the list is getting shorter in a recent New York Post article robots are being used to grow human parts.

But it’s not all altruistic. The Pentagon has recently spent a billion dollars to acquire more War Robots.

And that is Frenetic Friday.

Frenetic Friday

Well I am overly caffeinated and the only thing on the idiot box is Dune.  And while that is a temptation to be sure (The spice must flow!).  But it has been a week since I have written on the blog and I know that you probably want a wrap of the week’s events so here is Frenetic Friday.

So let’s talk about California and in specific some of the new laws.  Assembly bill 2943 is a bill that if made into law would make it illegal for  conversion therapy regarding gender or same-sex attraction calling it a fraudulent practice.  So if passed and someone with gender issues or same-sex attractions came to a pastor of a church and asked for help with these issues the pastor by law wouldn’t be able to help the person.    In fact you could not even give that person a bible as the words in it could change the mind of the person regarding their issue.  (And such were some of you. 1 Cor. 6:11)

Now the bill isn’t going unchallenged of course.  Alliance Defending Freedom, the Family Research Council, Liberty Counsel, the American College of Pediatricians, and the Pacific Justice Institute, as well as two pro-conversion-therapy groups, have begun a campaign trying to marshal voters against the bill by declaring it is “anti-Christian” or constitutes a form of government censorship of free speech, even alleging it may be unconstitutional. Some even allege that therapists who agree to see patients who are struggling with their sexual orientation and gender identity may even be prosecuted if the bill becomes law.

Staying with California, venture capitalist Tim Draper has obtained enough signatures to put a proposition on the ballot to split California into three separate states.  The state would become Northern California, Southern California, and California.  If passed it would have to be signed into law by the Governor and passed into law by the U.S. Congress.  However, it must be pointed out that if the state is split into three parts it would still be one conservative, or Republican state  to two progressive, or Democrat states.  Which would at least give some representation to the Republican minority in the state. <source>

Next we are going across the pond to the UK where gender equality reigns instead of the queen.  Case in point: Derbyshire Constabulary Male Voice Choir is an all male choir that has toured for more than sixty years.  Comprised of civilians who dress in police tunics and represent the Derbyshire police sourceduring their live performances they are the favorites of small communities and fund-raisers.  But all of that is changing.

Because of the requirement of gender equality in the Derbyshire police the current chief constable can’t support an all male choir and so has said they can no longer use the name of “Derbyshire Constabulary” and must quit using the name by June.  This has angered some of its members.  Because the choirmaster wants to keep the choir the same he has agreed to change the name of the choir rather than change the membership.  As of June the choir will be called “Derbyshire Community Male Voice Choir”  a name disliked by the members.  Along with the name change will come a costume change as the choir will no longer be wearing police tunics.  <source>

And army chaplain, a member of the Southern Baptist Church, faces charges because he wouldn’t lead a marriage retreat when a lesbian signed up for it.  An army investigator who found out that the Chaplain, Scott Squires had arranged for another chaplain that had different convictions regarding marriage than Chaplain Squires did.  Chaplain Squires has explained that N.A.M.B. (North American Mission Board) under whose authority he is, specifically prohibits same-sex weddings or retreats where same-sex couples would be present.   Chaplain Squires originally was scheduled to lead the retreat until the same-sex couple signed up for it.  And while the retreat took place one of the lesbians file a suit against Chaplain Squire saying that they had been discriminated against.

The army investigator also concluded that the soldier had been discriminated against.

The Army EO policy states that no service will be denied to any member of the Armed Service regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, religious affiliation, or sexual orientation,”

“CH Squires behaved as if his NAMB restrictions superseded [the soldier’s] right to attend the event,” he asserted. “CH Squires should be reprimanded for his failure to include [the soldier] in the initial Strong Bonds Retreat.”

Chaplain Squire’s attorney noted this:

National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) specifically prohibits the military from mandating that a chaplain “perform any rite, ritual, or ceremony that is contrary to the conscience, moral principles, or religious beliefs of the chaplain.”

“Chaplain Squires should not have his career ruined for following the rules of both his faith and the Army,” said Director of Military Affairs Mike Berry. “Federal law protects Chaplain Squires and prohibits the military from punishing any chaplain who acts in accordance with their religious tenets.”<source>

Frenetic Friday

Well fellow travelers it’s been a weird night and I don’t know if I can do an articulate post tonight. Check back tomorrow.

Frenetic Friday

Well lets just jump into it.

So let me see if I can remember it. A scout must be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. That is the scout law. That is what a Boy Scout must uphold.  Of course now that you don’t even have to be a boy to be in the boy scouts I wonder how much of the law still applies.  Take for instance the case of Logan Blythe.

Logan Blythe, 15, is a teenager with down syndrome who lives in Utah with his parents.  Logan is a passionate member of the local boy scouts.   Besides his Down Syndrome Logan also has Autism.  Because of this the local troop has accommodated him and as he earned his merit badges.  And all of this was well and good until Logan went for the highest award a scout can achieve and that was Eagle Scout.  When Logan started his project he was given an initial go ahead until it seems that the national office examined how Logan earned his badges and promptly put a stop to it and stripped him of his badges. (There goes that friendly, kind part of the law and I think the courteous also.)

The national office said that because Logan had assistance (Helpful, hello can anyone hear me?  Is this thing on?) that he didn’t actually earn the badges and since he didn’t earn them he couldn’t apply for his Eagle Scout.

Logan’s family has filed a lawsuit against the Boy Scouts of America and the Utah National Parks  Council for “damages greater than one dollar” for “outrageous and reckless conduct and disregard of the emotional well-being of Logan.”

“The Boy Scouts have lost their way,” Ted McBride, the Blythe family attorney, told KSL-TV. “The local Utah people did not want to enforce this discriminatory policy, but regrettably that turned out to be a bad decision for them. The Boy Scouts have made accommodations for those who identify as transgender, they have even accepted girls into the boy scouts, and they are going to fight this? For what? To protect the prestigious Eagle Scout badge?”

Chad (Logan’s father) says the lawsuit is simply to restore Logan’s honor. “I want the Boy Scouts to change its policy,” he tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “They should reinstate Logan’s badges and acknowledge the fact that not all boys have the same capabilities.”<source>

Maybe we need to review the Scout Law again.

And in baby news the rise of the gender fluid baby names is on the rise according to Fox News.  According to  Linda Murray, global editor-in-chief of BabyCenter.com there has  been a rise in gender neutral names for children, such as Royal, Charlie, Skylar, Justice, and Oakley.

Here’s a few quotes from the article:

We chose a gender-neutral name, Riley, for my daughter,” said Lori Kinkler, a psychologist in San Antonio, Texas. “We knew her sex, but gender is fluid and yet to be determined. Of all the difficulties faced by those who live beyond, or across, the binary, we didn’t want name-changing to be one of them. … I like that she feels she has options and knows she’ll be accepted by us no matter what.” Riley is 3.

Kirsten Hammann, 45, in the San Francisco Bay area, and her husband named their daughters Teagan and Sigrid. She considers both names gender neutral.

“Sigrid is technically a girl’s name but because it’s so uncommon in the U.S. it reads as gender neutral to most people,” she said. “The gender neutrality was not something my husband and I discussed explicitly and I would say it was more in my mind knowing firsthand the hurdles women face across so many areas of life. Whether we like it or not, names that skew a little masculine, or less feminine, are perceived as stronger, and I wanted that for my girls.”

“We named our baby Avery Morgann. The intention was to give them more room to define themselves as they get older. Also, name changes are expensive and frustrating,” said Portland, Oregon, parent C.J. Alicandro, who strives for gender neutrality in all ways for the 2 1/2-year-old.

“We wanted to set up Avery with an opportunity to not be limited as much as possible by a name and be able to choose an identity as much as possible, given the confines that are forced upon them,” said Alicandro, a 31-year-old social worker.

Of course I am an old fuddy duddy I remember when we named our children after the names of saints.

Here’s an article from the Art of Manliness on how to survive a mugging.  Just click on the picture to be taken to the article.

And finally there is a new trend among the millennials. Instead of getting engagement rings the current trend is to embed the diamond into the finger of the person being engaged.

Frenetic Friday

For mature audiences only.

We have a lot of ground to cover tonight, robots, mad scientists, culture of death, cannibalism, christian persecution and fake porn.

So let’s start with the fake porn.  So someone called deepfakes has created an easy to use app, no I am not going to tell you its name, that can easily  swap the face of a person and place it upon the body of another one.  Now this isn’t new people have done this for years.  However, you usually had to be an expert in Photoshop to be able to do this accurately so that there was no obvious glitches.  No longer this app makes it easy and any person with a basic understanding can create fake or revenge porn.

But that isn’t all there are political ramifications to this also.  Imagine putting a politician’s face on an ad saying something totally  opposite what they believe or what their party platform is.  Take for instance this deep fake of Donald Trump as Biff from back to the future

Or how about Steve Buscemi’s face on Sharon Stone from the iconic Basic Instinct (warning adult content)

So now the question is can we trust anything on the internet?

Have you seen this little cutie? He is the latest Gerber baby and he has down syndrome. Ruth Marcus in an opinion column in the Washington Post said that she needs to have the right to abort a down syndrome baby. Her article: I would have aborted a fetus with Downs syndrome. Women need that right. She frankly admits that if you consider abortion murder then you wouldn’t do this, but not her, displaying a fundamental flaw in her thinking she states that she doesn’t consider down children human. Because of their developmental disabilities they are “not the child I wanted”.

In response to this article Pro-life Chair of the House Republican Conference Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-WA took to twitter to respond to the offensive op-ed piece. McMorris Rogers has a down syndrome child herself and said:

she understands how difficult it is “to be told that your child’s life is going to be different than you dreamed,” but she believes “every baby has a right to life, period.”

Mad Science Update!

Well one of the goals of a certain group of scientists is to create “cruelty free” meat.  Basically meat that isn’t grown by animals such as cows or chickens rather it is grown in a vat.  PETA has offered  a million dollars to sell in vitro chicken.   But famous atheist Richard  Dawkins responding to an article about clean meat in the Independent  says why don’t we go a step further and think about eating human meat?

But don’t think we are at the end of the insanity here. No how about a human-chimp hybrid? A humanzee, according to David P. Barash, a professor at the University of Washington writing  at Nautilus, is an idea whose time has come. And why should we do this? Well according to Darash we need to do this because:

the grotesque abuse of nonhuman animals, facilitated by what might well be the most hurtful theologically-driven myth of all times: that human beings are discontinuous from the rest of the natural world, since we were specially created and endowed with souls, whereas “they”—all other creatures—were not.

Yes we have to do this because David P. Barash wants to deny his Creator. And creating a humanzee would “prove” the continuity between humans and apes and thus evolution.  So ultimately creating monsters, and humanzees are monsters, is just another way to rebel against the creator who made you.

And Walmart, yes Walmart has just filed a patent for robot bees or more correctly pollination drones which can be used to pollinate crops.  The robots would collect pollen from one flower and use it to pollinate another one by means of cameras and sensors to detect where the crops are located.

With the loss of bees over the years , there has been a concern on how to replace them and robotic bees have been in the works.  But this is the first time that, according to the patent, the bees can be remotely controlled and automatically detect pollen.

And finally lets take a trip to Sweden.

Refugees, Muslim and   Christian, trying to escape violence are moving to Sweden.  Except for Christians this move to escape violence has just brought the violence to different country.  Christians have been attacked for wearing crosses in public by Islamists.  Many of these attacks have been on converts to Christianity from Islam.  But not all.  And while these attacks have been on the rise the Swedish government isn’t doing anything to stop them.  Pray for the Christian refugees in Sweden.

And good night for Frenetic Friday.
