Q. 110. What is the third Commandment?
A. Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord they God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his Name in vain.

Q. 111 What is God’s will for us in the third commandment?
A. That we neither blaspheme nor misuse the name of God by cursing, perjury, or unnecessary oaths, nor share in such horrible sins by being silent bystanders. In a word, it requires that we use the holy name of God only with reverence and awe, so that we may properly confess him,6 pray to him, and praise him in everything we do and say.

Frenetic Friday

Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? Frenetic Friday knows.

A 200 non points if you recognize the quote.

Speaking of pop culture couple of things to note.  There is a movement on Twitter to give Captain America a boyfriend.  Yes folks the social justice warriors are at it again, a hero from the 1940’s they feel needs to be made gay.  But I really shouldn’t be surprised since it was done once before on the other side.  Yes DC took the original Green Lantern, Alan Scott, and to make him “current” made him gay.  Yes he too was a hero who had his origins in 1940.  But you know that appears to be the thing now heroes can’t be heroes any more take the current storyline for Captain America its been revealed that he is actually an agent of Hydra.  Hydra, the more Nazi than Nazi group created and led by the Red Skull, the group that Captain America originally fought and destroyed in WWII he is actually a member of Hydra.  BTW here is what Chris Evans the actor that played Captain America said:

Frankly that is the response of the 90% of the people who hear that.

Let me point you to this article over at the Federalist:  We Must Not Rest Until Every Superhero is Gay

And while we are at it let’s go to my favorite law group the ACLU.  Brigitte Amiri writing on the ACLU’s blog tells of a scenario where a bleeding pregnant woman goes into a Catholic run hospital and according to her is denied an abortion and instead left out in the parking lot bleeding until someone drives her to another hospital where the abortion is performed.  Because of this, and because of the policy of the Catholic run hospitals not to do abortions she wants the records of the hospitals seized by the government and investigated for more of these cases. Except what she is writing about isn’t the truth.

See the scenario described is where a pregnancy complications endanger both the mother and the child.  A situation that is extremely rare.  Dr. Donna Harrison, executive director of the American Association of Pro-Life obstetrician and Gynecologists says this:

The purpose of an elective abortion is to guarantee a dead baby. The purpose of separating the mother and the fetus in life threatening conditions is to try to save both the mother and her unborn child if possible, but at least save the mother. The ACLU is playing on the ignorance of what abortion actually is: a procedure designed to produce a dead baby.

Whoops!  Yes can’t have that whole saving the baby along with the mother somebody has to die and that somebody has to be the baby it seems.

And last two videos about college kids and how they say the darndest things.

Q. 108 May we then not make any image at all?

A.  God can not and may not be visibly portrayed in any way.  Although creatures may be portrayed, yet God forbids making or having such images if one’s intention is to worship them or to serve God through them.

Ex. 34:13-14, 17; 2 Kings 18:4-5

Q. 109 But may not images be permitted in the churches as teaching aids for the unlearned?

A.  No, we shouldn’t try to be wiser than God. He wants his people instructed by the living preaching of his Word not by idols that cannot even talk.

Rom. 10:14-15, 17; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:19

Jer. 10:8; Hab. 2:18-20

No Frenetic Friday

So long story short I have been working long hours at my place of work and I am mind numbing tired.  So rather than have a sub par post I am going to postpone Frenetic Friday for a week.

Frenetic Friday

This is going to be a short but pithy Frenetic Friday tonight so let’s not waste a minute.

In politics/culture wars we have a new decree directive from our current ruler:

The Obama administration is planning to issue a sweeping directive telling every public school district in the country to allow transgender students to use the bathrooms that match their gender identity.

Let me quote Denny Burk here:

Just to be clear what this means. The Obama administration is announcing its intent to coerce through force of law every public school to accept this. He expects your local school to allow boys to use bathroom and shower facilities with girls and vice versa. So long as the child’s parents are willing to go along with their child’s new identity, the school has to let students into the bathroom and locker room of the opposite sex

This directive is jaw-dropping. The Obama administration doesn’t care whether the local or state school system supports such a move. It doesn’t care whether parents want male students showering with the female students or vice versa. President Obama’s letter…

…requires schools to provide transgender students equal access to educational programs and activities even in circumstances in which other students, parents, or community members raise objections or concerns.

The Obama administration is saying that every public school must accept the new rules or face the music. It has decided that anyone (even parents!) who refuses the new rules will be guilty of invidious “discrimination.”<source>

This decree directive effectively bypasses any rule of law that originated in the constitution or what our founders intended.  And frankly I doubt greatly that our founders wanted was for gender disillusioned men to share a public bathroom with a woman.

And here is something to think about:

pottyfreedomHT: R.C. Sproul Jr.

Think about it.

And speaking of Politics here is a piece by Thabiti Anyabwile:

A vote to check unpredictable evil with predictable

I disagree with his conclusions but I suggest you read the article and make up your own mind.

And now for a little humor.

Meet the president-dictator of a micro-nation inside the United States

I love what he said about taxes and the roads.

And now a robot:

Now here is what I am afraid of some televangelist hustler is going to see this and think hey what a great idea I can get the faithful to buy one of these and I’ll program it with my teaching.  Can’t you just see this robot in a Benny Hinn silver suit?

Theology Thursday: Antichrist(s)

Long overdue – thanks one and all for your prayers while I have been recovering – here is the final post on comparative eschatologies, bibilcal/orthodox and unbiblical/fanciful. In this final post, we’ll look at what the major schools of eschatology teach about the Antichrist or Antichrists:

To Postmillennialists, the antichrist is viewed in the past, as various individuals, a movement or spirit (1 John 4:3) of deception. The Apostle John warned that even in his own lifetime, “many antichrists have come (1 John 2:18).”

To most Amillennialists, the antichrist is a future individual who gains political power over the whole world before the return of Christ. Other Amillennialists share the Postmillennial view and point to numerous examples, from Nero to Hitler, and some to the Papacy. Because of the Amillenial view of the worldwide decline of the culture and the church being driven underground, the former opinion makes more sense in the grand Amillennial scheme. Historically, world domination is the goal of every conqueror-dictator. Sooner later one is bound to succeed, at least for a time.

Historic Premillennialists teach that the antichrist is a future individual who inflicts persecution of Christians before the “rapture” at the end of the tribulation period.

Dispensational Premillenialists teach that a future world dictator will persecute both Jews and Christians, reaching the peak of his power after the rapture. “Mid-trib” advocates, say it occurs 3 1/2 years into the 7-year tribulation period.

Monday, Monday

Well you may have noticed that there wasn’t a special Saturday.  There is an old saying that deals with men and a sovereign God that goes man proposes and God disposes, (Homo proponit, sed Deus disponit), check out Proverbs 16:33.

So there were a number of things that happened, one of which was me getting an eye infection, loss of Wi-Fi, and just sheer procrastination.  Now most of those have been addressed, I am still working on the procrastination business but it is being addressed.

So I apologize for not following through with my posting. I will strive to do better.  I had a brother in the Lord encourage me just this morning to not lose the ground I’ve made but to keep going on to the end.  Something we all need to be reminded of from time to time.  So thanks for sticking with me.
