Earworm Wednesday: Come thou long expected Jesus

This Christmas or Advent hymn comes from the pen of Charles Wesley. Wesley wrote verse one and four of this hymn and based it upon:

Haggai 2:7
And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, said the LORD of hosts.

In 1978 Mark E. Hunt wrote verses two and three.

But it was Charles Surgeon who made the hymn popular by quoting it on a Christmas sermon.

Every since then this has been a popular hymn around Christmas time. Enjoy this rendition.
