Saturday Special Part 2

So technology it is a wonderful thing truly.  Except when it decides to strike back.  Case in point my Friday post just didn’t make it out so settle back grab a beverage of your choice and get ready.

Remember Boko Haram?  Terrorist jihadists that kidnapped over 250 young girls.  Then there was that whole hashtag thing on Twitter that worked out real well didn’t it?   But did you know that we have our very own Boko Haram here in the good old US of A?  Yeah neither did I, but according to Mike Greer a retired baptist missionary the Southern Baptists are the same as Boko Haram!  And how did he come to this conclusion?  Why it is because the Southern Baptist denomination holds to complementarianism.  So what is complementarianism?  Complementarianism is the theological view that although men and women are created equal in their being and personhood, they are created to complement each other via different roles and responsibilities as manifested in marriage, family life, religious leadership, and elsewhere. <cit. Theopedia>  Yes because Southern Baptists don’t allow women to be pastors (which is what it really boils down to ultimately) they are the same as jihadists.  Fortunately Dr. Paul Chitwood executive director of Kentucky Baptist Convention has provided a well thought out response to Mike Greer entitled:  Southern Baptist Terrorists?  A response to Mike Greer.  Please take a moment to read Dr. Chitwood’s response it is well worth it.

Speaking of the Religion of Peace, let’s say you want to go to a Christian seminary, what do you suppose the rules should be?  Well there is those rules that in my opinion make no sense like no smoking or drinking (Charles Spurgeon couldn’t get in with those rules) but how about Christian?  Well wouldn’t you just have egg on your face!  Because Southwestern Baptist Seminary has accepted Palestinian student Ghassan Nagagreh to its archeology doctoral program in 2012.  What 2012?  So for two years Southwestern has been keeping him on the down low?  Southwestern has said that allowing a Sunni Muslim is a one time thing and doesn’t mean it’s changing the policy about “a mature Christian character” and “evidence [of] a desire for Christian ministry,”  Nagagreh is participating in a local congregation and is abiding by the school’s moral code.  No information about whether he still prays to Mecca five times a day or if the school has given him a place to do so.

So the war on Boys you’ve heard about this well here is some practical suggestions from Prager University to help boys out in schools.

Lastly here is a something from our Robotic Overlords:  Robotic furniture

Sure now they’re furniture what else are they going to disguise themselves as I wonder?

  1. Very informative and a pleasant read. Thanks for the commentary on Greer, and then the link for Chitwood’s rebuttal. I had not heard or read anything about that previously. I was also surprised about Southwestern Baptist Seminary too. Once again a great post.
