Frenetic Friday

A tale of two videos for your consideration:  the first went viral this week it is of Andre Robinson a sick individual that lives in New York.  He had himself filmed while coaxing over a stray cat, petting it, and then viciously kicking it twenty feet into the air.  The second is of Emily Letts a woman who found herself pregnant and decided to film herself having the abortion.  Of these two acts which do you think was investigated by the police?  If you said the abuse of the stray cat you’d be correct.  Now what is the point.  Both are heinous acts totally detestable but why is Andre Robinson arrested and not Emily Letts?  Because a stray cat’s life is more important than a child.  Don’t mistake what I am saying here, Robinson deserves everything he is going to get for what he did to that poor cat.  But there is no retribution for the child that Emily Letts killed.  And she knows it was a child she admitted as much in the Cosmopolitan interview and she doesn’t feel guilty: “I don’t think guilt is a productive feeling. I don’t think guilt does much for us,” “I forgave myself for not using birth control, I corrected it, and I moved forward.”  James White refers to her as the “Secular Woman”  and apt title I think.

Fox News:  Emily Letts abortion video goes viral

Let’s move on to tolerance.  I don’t watch a lot of HGTV well actually as far as I know unless it has been on and I haven’t realize it I haven’t watch any of the shows on that channel.  But it seems there is a a show on that channel called Flip It Forward where twin brothers, wait let me restate that there was going to be a show on HGTV called Flip It Forward but the two twin brothers who were to star in the show were “outed” by the Right Wing Watch as, and this is the really shocking part, Christians who opposed abortion and promoted traditional marriage!  Oh the horror of it all!  Here is the brother’s statement regarding the cancellation:

The first and last thought on our minds as we begin and end each day is; have we shined Christ’s light today? Our faith is the fundamental calling in our lives, and the centerpiece of who we are. As Christians we are called to love our fellow man. Anyone who suggests that we hate homosexuals or people of other faiths is either misinformed or lying.

Over the last decade, we’ve sold thousands of homes with the guiding principle of producing value and breathing life into each family that has crossed our path, and we do not, nor will we ever discriminate against people who do not share our views.

We were saddened to hear HGTV’s decision. With all of the grotesque things that can be seen and heard on television today you would think there would be room for two twin brothers who are faithful to our families, committed to biblical principles, and dedicated professionals. If our faith costs us a television show then so be it.

The horror, the horror!

And now a word from our Robotic Over Lords:

Self driving cars yes they are the wave of the future or are they?  This article in Wired points out a little problem that just might make you think twice before going full bore with this idea.  One of the issues that plague the designers of robot cars is how to minimize the damage in case of a crash.  Otherwise known as what is better to hit a semi full of anvils or a person on a bicycle?  Which will actually cause the least amount of damage to the car and it’s passengers?   Physics would say that the person on the bicycle will cause less damage to the vehicle than the semi with a load of anvils.  So the problem is a matter of ethics can you save the passengers and keep from injuring pedestrians, cyclists, and other passenger cars?  How do you develop a software that can make those decisions not to mention test it?  Something to keep in mind as you drive down the road.
