Q. 29. How does Christ execute the office of a priest?
A. Christ executes the office of a priest, in His once offering up of Himself, a sacrifice to satisfy divine justice, and reconcile us to God, and in making continual intercession for us.
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and glive to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 1 Peter 2:24
So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him. Hebrews 9:28
And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 5:2
Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. Hebrews 2:17
Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.  Hebrews 7:25
Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, vwho indeed is interceding for us.  Romans 8:34
